We extend a warm welcome to Ms. Ally Jalice who will be the new Executive Director during the 2025-2026 school year. She succeeds Sister Elizabeth Dunn, OP, who is moving to Muskego, Wisconsin after 10 grace-filled and rewarding years.
The Board of Trustees did not have to look far to find the most qualified person for the position. In fact, she was right on their campus as their first grade teacher. The stars have always fallen upon Hope Rural and having a person of such caliber is evidence of God’s providence in our midst.
APPOINTMENT OF NEW EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
It is with deep gratitude and unwavering purpose that I serve as Executive Director of Hope Rural School—a place where faith, love, and education come together to nurture the hearts and minds of children. As a former first-grade teacher at Hope and the daughter of immigrants, I understand the power of culturally responsive, faith-based education in transforming lives and building brighter futures. For me, this work is not just professional—it is profoundly personal.
I bring to this role a wide-ranging background in education, psychology, social services, and compliance leadership. I hold a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Western Governors University, where I was honored with the Award of Excellence, a distinction granted to only 3% of graduate students. I also earned a dual Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and English from Florida International University, graduating with honors and serving as Vice President of the Psychology Honor Society, and an honorary member of the Golden Key Honor Society.
My professional journey includes serving as Director of Operations for the top-ranked social service agency across Dade, Broward, and Monroe Counties. I have worked as an Expert Consultant, training agencies and corporations across Florida to meet and exceed the rigorous standards of the Florida Statewide Quality Assurance Program (FSQAP), with a consistent 100% compliance score. I have also been a Certified Support Coordinator, Certified Healthy Start Coordinator, and Zero Tolerance Trainer, and have taught as an Educational Outreach Instructor for the University of Miami, St. Thomas University, and Barry University.
In addition to being a Florida Certified Educator (K–6) and Certified Paralegal, I’ve been honored with multiple recognitions, including: Certificate of Commendation from the Agency for Persons with Disabilities, Certificate of Appreciation for mentoring students and job seekers with disabilities, A State of Florida Commendation from former Governor Rick Scott recognizing my agency's excellence in compliance and human impact.
What grounds me most, however, is my love for Hope Rural School—its mission, its families, and most importantly, its students. I lead with empathy, faith, and vision, committed to building a school community where every child is seen, valued, and empowered to succeed. My experience in curriculum development, instructional support, multilingual learner advocacy, and culturally affirming education equips me to lead our school with both innovation and heart.
As we journey forward together, I remain guided by these words:
“Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire.” — William Butler Yeats
At Hope Rural, I am blessed to help light that fire - in every child, every day!
Respectfully,
Ally Jalice
PROVIDENCE CAN PROVIDE, PROVIDENCE DID PROVIDE, PROVIDENCE WILL PROVIDE.
The school primarily serves children from immigrant families by providing them with a Catholic elementary education in grades PreK3 through grade 5 in an environment that nurtures the Gospel values of mercy, justice, and love, through fostering the principles of Christian discipleship; supporting, guiding, and encouraging parents in the education of their children; developing an appreciation and respect for heritage; encouraging and enabling graduates to reach their full potential through advanced education.
